Awana is run by a dedicated group of volunteers who aim to make Awana fun for your children. Trinity Wesleyan Church has a child protection policy in place that requires all volunteers to undergo background checks and training to ensure your children are in the safest environment possible.
Weekly dues are $0.25, to partially offset the yearly cost of running Awana. These can also be paid up-front for the entire year. In addition, the child will need a handbook and uniform, which can be purchased for less than $20. However, we do not want anybody to get left out because of costs, so please contact us if you need assistance in this area.
What should my child bring to Awana?
When your child arrives for Awana, he/she should be in Uniform, have their Bible, and have their handbook. If dues are paid on a weekly basis (as opposed to being pre-paid at the beginning of the Club Year), this would be when they are paid.
Do you have to be church members to attend?
No! While a good number of the children who attend our Awana Club also attend our Church, there's also a large number of children that come who's families regularly attend and are active in another local Church. We also have a number of children that attend who's families don't attend Church.
What are "Theme Nights?"
We will pick a "theme" that will carry through-out the club night and create excitement for the night. An example might be "Crazy Face Night." All the Clubbers and Leaders who want to participate will do something to make their face "crazy". This usually involves face paint and some silly creativity! We don't always have a "Theme Night" every time we meet.
What are "Awana Bucks?"
As an added incentive, we "perk" the kids with "Awana Bucks!" Kids earn these "Bucks" each time they pass a section in their book. They also earn "Awana Bucks" when they arrive for Check-In before Club starts and if they have "everything" they're supposed to bring to Awana! Periodically, we open our Awana Club store. It's filled with fun items and goodies that the kids can buy with their Awana Bucks!
